You Don’t Have a Mailing List

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on June 29th, 2011 by admin

What do you mean you don’t have a mailing list? Didn’t anyone tell you that the money is in the list? Oh! I see you are only just starting online, and you only have a hobby. Well, there is a problem with having just a hobby online, in that the majority of people, who do, make very little money.

It is nice to have a website relating to your hobby, but do you think it would be better to turn that into becoming an online business owner, and having a great income and business?

One of the first things you should do is start to build your list. Yes, there is money to be made through your list, but only when you have a list.

How do you go about building your list and what do you do when you are suddenly faced with a list who want information from you?

This is a step many people forget about, they concentrate so hard to do list building, which they forget that the list will want to hear from them as well.

The simple part is to put an opt-in page on your site, and have a hook for them to sign up. But, the real work is the follow ups that you need to do. You might need to start writing content and then find products to recommend and sell to the list.

What do you mean you don’t plan on selling, how do you think you will make any money if you never sell to them.

You need both content and products; it is a balance of the two.

If you are using a downline builder, then you will find your list builder faster than you had imagined. The people who sign up to your list will also be wanting to get their list growing fast, and they will in turn be looking for people to sign up for their list.

As this list becomes a viral network, you will be able to send them great content. By that, you will have them waiting to read the next chapter. It will be like reading that novel which keeps you on the edge of your seat. You send them enough content to keep them interested, but leave them wanting more.

They become hungry, and hungry people need to be fed. When you keep them waiting long enough, you can then put in the product you are selling. They have become so hungry, that they are immediately clicking to find out the solution to their hunger. They’ll want to know if they can learn something to pass onto their list, and make more money from them as well.

It is a never ending circle, you build your list, they build their list, you earn money from your list, and they earn money from their list. If you work on giving them the content not only to learn from but to make money from they will be buying from you, and your subscribers will be worth a lot more than $1 a month.

The Internet Marketing Numbers Game – a Myth?

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on June 28th, 2011 by admin

Internet marketing is a numbers game, we all know that. Or is it not? Maybe we are all mistaken and chasing a white elephant. Internet marketing is a highly competitive market. If you ever used a pay-per-click search engine you know what I mean. Internet marketing is a tough market. You deal with all kind of people. Just skim your inbox. I’m sometimes amazed with the emails I’m getting. “need money now help make money fast” this is an evergreen from my collection of email responses to my newsletter.

Does this sound familiar? Well, I think it’s sad and embarrassing. We are doing everything a so called internet marketing guru told us to do and the responses are mostly from confused and poor people who have no clue what we are actually talking about. Now ask yourself again, is it really a numbers game or should you completely change directions.

One of the marketing systems I’m part of recently issued a statement that most of the new subscribers are from non English speaking countries. Keep in mind that the site is completely in English are geared towards English speaking audience. Just a few words of English won’t do it either. They are selling the service with the slogan “find 3 and it’s free”. This definitely leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Ok, now what? How can you make a living or even more than living with an online business? Ask 10 internet marketing gurus and you get 11 different answers. The only thing I can say is to approach an online business the same way as you do with a traditional business. With traditional businesses nobody expects a profit in the first year of a brand new business. But on the internet everybody gets frustrated if they don’t make money in the first three days.

If everything would work like all the gurus make us believe there would be no more employment. The economy as we know it would seize to exist. Home businesses are by definition meant to be an income supplement. In some cases they become a full time income. On very rare occasions a home business can turn into a money maker. I heard of them, but I never actually met anybody that made it.

After reading all this you can understand that internet marketing is not always a pleasure. This is especially true if you are building a business with internet marketing. So, should you completely avoid

internet marketing and focus on other business ventures? Well, it depends. If you can’t handle the competition and the negative image of this market segment, don’t do it.

On the other hand, if you are able to manage a small success in a highly competitive market, keep doing what you’re doing. Chances are that some of your competitors are giving up and you can fill the void in no time. Make no mistake it’s a dog eat dog environment and never ever expect a helping hand from a fellow marketer. Unless you made it into the “chosen few league”. The big guns are joining forces all the time to increase their market shares and profits. Hmm, this sounds like good old corporate America, doesn’t it?

As I said, treat your online business the same way you would treat a traditional brick and mortar business. Because the same principals apply to both types of businesses. Anybody who thinks they could push their business into profitable returns by maxing out their credit cards are missing the boat big time. Yes I admit it; in the beginning I spend way too much money on useless stuff because a guru told me so. Then I turned around and tried to convince others to spend too much money on useless stuff. Again a guru told me to do so.

Luckily I was able to break out of this death spiral and forced myself to analyze the situation. First, do I really want to continue with this internet thing? Second, do I really want to spend hours after hours everyday to chase something that might not exist? Yes I really want this internet thing to work and No I don’t want to chase wild goose. I needed to be smarter with my business decisions and more creative in my approaches. Ever since I changed the way I’m doing things my business is doing better every day. Like the real world businesses, it takes time to develop.

The bottom line of this little story is; never trust anybody’s advices blindly; don’t do exactly what you’ve told to do without researching the consequences. Although the consequences are most likely an empty bank account and maxed out credit cards. It will devastate your financial future. Remember, be smart, play smart and play the internet marketing numbers right.

Examples of Business Opportunities From The Internet World

Income Earning Offers By Mail

I send you an unsolicited e-mail and guise it as a business offer. I do my best to make the opportunity sound like a dream come true. I talk about the wonderful house you will own, the expensive car you will drive and the lavish holidays you will be able to afford. Can you but trust me to send a measly amount of ($SUM) so that I can reveal to you the secret.

This comes in many guises. For example, I fool you into thinking that I have the perfect formula for beating the odds in some gambling venture. Or that I have made many thousands of dollars using this or doing that. You will be surprised to hear me say that all this may in fact be true. However, an offer received in this way (i.e. unsolicited mail) has virtually no chance of being genuine. But, if you are really tempted and want to be sure, just do a search on the name or the company. If no name or contact information is given then you can forget it straight away. Most scams of this nature are however clever and they will provide you with this information.

If your search reveals nothing about the contact then forget it. If there are many references to the name or the company, dig a little more to find what people are saying. If all these checks reveal positive results, then the next plan of action is to reply to the mail (this should be standard practice even if you asked to be included on some mailing list) and ask as many questions as possible and wait for a reply. If the reply comes quickly (a day or so), is not an automatic response and all your questions are satisfactorily answered, you can probably go ahead. But never hurry to give your money away.

Income Earning Offers Over The Net

The most notable types of offer you may come across are: Home Working, Multilevel Marketing (MLM), Affiliate Programs, Reselling and Surfing for Cash.

Now if you do come across any of these sites, particularly after having done a search engine query, the chances are that you are looking for some kind of opportunity. You are testing the water, as it were. It is the same as looking through the classified section of small adverts in a national or local newspaper. The chances also are that you are looking for a second income or even a complete change of work for whatever reason. You might be fed up with your boss or the pay is too small or the hours are long or the people are unfriendly. Most of us have done the job thing and I think we all know the feeling of how each of those things eats away at your happiness. Whatever your reason is, it means you are vulnerable. You are impressionable, especially if you are relatively new to this sort of thing on the net.

These are not words of discouragement. They are words of caution because you will need to exercise sizeable quantities of it in order to avoid slipping into a scam. The plain reason is that it is often difficult to see the difference between a scam and a genuine offer. However, there are certain signs that you will be well advised to look for.

Let us first try to address some questions that the prospect will almost certainly be asking before I list the danger signs. In general, people I speak to or converse with on this subject ask me the following questions

(often in the order I present them below):

Q1. Is it really possible to earn some kind of income on the net?

A1. The answer is an emphatic YES. The reason for this answer is a direct result of how the question is posed. The word possible is used. So, after some thought, the question is rephrased.

Q2. Can anyone earn some kind of income on the net?

A2. The answer is the same, YES. The question is really no different from the first one. But just to appear a little more sociable, I may add that anyone with patience, a reasonable intelligence, and a natural disposition to hard work can make money on the net. By adding this extra bit, I save the next question which is: “Could I earn some kind of income on the net?”

Q3. How much are we talking about?

A3. Very difficult to say. It depends on a lot of things. First, it depends on what type of activity, what type of business, what type of good or service you are offering. But obviously there are people who are making lots of money and there are those (the majority) who are making very little. The range averages from $30 per month to $20,000 per month.

The answer to question three quickly separates prospects into two categories. The get rich quick people and the I am ready for hard work and to be patient people. So the moral of this story is that if I advise you that you can earn $20,000 per month by working an hour a day, I am not lying to you but I am misleading you. I am giving you the impression that this can be achieved quickly, i.e. within days or weeks or even months of having set up your Internet home-based business. The truth is that all successful people who have made very large amounts of money on the net have spent a lot of time refining, rebuilding, changing, learning, reading and gaining valuable experience in the process.

Consider a business on the high street. A small grocery shop does not make as much money as a supermarket. Even if the volume of customers were the same, people would come in, look around, not find what they want and make their way to the nearest supermarket. The point is, any business, even an Internet one, has to be built gradually. Your customer-base has to be established, your reputation has to grow, the popularity of your site has to flourish and you have to keep working at it (even when you think you have the perfect site). The good news is that if you adhere to all of the above, the work really does get less and less.

I wrote this article specifically for those (perhaps newcomers) that are entertaining the idea of going into business using the internet. The candidate will have undertaken many searches to find the right sort of “business” but possibly without the knowledge of what they might expect to find. It is really to sound a note of caution and inject the benefit of experience and wisdom into the mind-set of those that hear about the glories of “home working” and “making $1000s just by working 2 hours a day”. These are just a few of the many emotion stirring headlines con-artists use to grab and keep one’s attention.

I am also the author of a fantasy/supernatural novel called “Will of Dreams”, for which I have built a dedicated website http://www.willofdreams.com awaiting the command finger hovering impatiently above your mouse to click upon it.

Affiliate Marketing Tactics: make money online

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on June 27th, 2011 by admin

Nobody complains that too much money will bring harm to them. Would you like to make a little bit of extra money at home? What if I told you that you could make money online and it will almost not cost you anything to make it? You will be shock that these sorts of things are going on every day on the Internet.

There are a lot of different scams that are out there but I’m not talking about those, I’m talking about starting a business on the Internet knowing affiliate marketing. This is a business that can easily be done from home in the evenings and on weekends and you can build it as fast as you want. The more effort you put into an affiliate marketing business, the more reward you will get in return.

Understanding affiliate marketing is actually quite a simple thing. Normally, choosing which affiliate programs you’re going to do have a common pitfall that many people stumble on. For more details visit to www.boost-website-traffic.com inside any affiliate network, there are going to be a lot amount of loser and number of winners. People normally go towards the winners because they are the ones that give out the huge commissions and then offer the flashiest

programs. But far too many people put all of their efforts into making money using these programs and they never make any at all. Many of them just give up because they are frustrated, thinking that affiliate marketing just does not work.

You need to make sure that you are promoting the proper programs if you’re going to take the time to learn about affiliate marketing and how to make money on the Internet. Stay away from the ones that are full of competition because it is too difficult to make any commissions at all. For more details visit to www.myspace-marketing-secret.com look through the network that you belong to and find programs that offer things that are a bit out of the ordinary. These are found on the bottom of the affiliate marketing network because they have the least people that are selling their products. Although this looks bad, it is actually an excellent sign that there is some money to be made.

You will be working in areas that are not full of competition by choosing these lesser-known programs. The sales will come much easier and you can also make more money. Choose carefully and you can reach your business goals in a short period of time.

How Big is Your List?

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on June 25th, 2011 by admin

Does size really matter? When it comes to the size of your mailing list, yes it does matter. Think about it for a moment, it has been said that each subscriber is worth $1 a month. How much is your small list worth compared to a large list?

It is simple maths to work out that the larger the list the more money it is worth. But it isn’t just about building a large list, but building a relationship with those people. You see, you could have a list of 10,000 and if they never hear from you except when you want to sell to them, and then it won’t be a surprise to find that even $1 a month is far higher than they are worth.

But when you build a relationship with them, when they trust you, they will also trust you to recommend and sell good products to them.

How do you build that big list, which wants to hear from you, and also wants to buy from you? It takes planning to get it right, but you will find that a downline builder is a great way to start.

You will be offering people an incentive to join your list building, and they will also be able to start to build their own list. You will not only have an opt-in page on your website, but you will use a double opt-in for all those who sign up.

In a very short space of time you will have a double opt-in viral list. The

key here is the word viral. You will have a viral list, which you will use viral marketing with, having a viral explosion of your viral network.

Do you see how this works; it is all about going viral, marketing, explosion, network, lists? Do you see how these all link together?

You don’t understand how they all work together? Well, you’ll know that when marketers talk about viral they know it is going to explode their business and make them a lot more money.

This is true for you, as you have a viral list. Ah! You don’t have a viral list. OK! Then we need to start by building a viral list. Yes, it is possible to do, all you need is a list that knows what you’re offering is the best around; they can’t help gossip about you to other people. This will take your list viral, and then you can start a viral marketing campaign. You will be selling them products which they know they can’t afford not to have.

They will be telling their network all about you and your products, and this is when the explosion will take place. You list will become far bigger than you’re dreamt about. It will make you money that before you had thought wasn’t possible, all because you thought about viral and how it could affect your business. No longer will you be ashamed of the size of your list, because you know how to build a big list, and one you are proud of.

Start Guide to Writing Profitable Articles and internet

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on June 24th, 2011 by admin

It is a fact that writing your own articles can bring in hundreds of new visitors/customers to your website.

The Internet is nothing else than a huge information database, explored by millions of people who are looking for information on specific topics.

When people come across your article and read your information, they will consider you as an expert. As someone who is experienced in your niche. In return for sharing your knowledge with them, they will come to your website, and see what else you have to offer.

Another reason that articles can generate a lot of traffic is that search engines love great content. Search engine spiders constantly crawl all over the web, looking for quality information to offer to their users.

If you can provide great content to the search engines, their users will be happy. And to reward you for delivering what people are looking for more details go to www.split-test-profits.com, they will give you a high listing. As a result, hurdles of traffic (read potential buyers) will find your website.

An informative article, filled with lots of keywords and an attractive title, is the best guarantee to getting a lot of traffic, and this without paying for it.

One thing you need to understand, and that is that, everybody can write. Many people totally freeze up when they hear about writing. They believe that writing is an art. Well, if you believe that, then I have good news for you.

The key to getting that first article out comes down to knowing what you are going to write about.

The following tips will help you get started:

- A good article

tells the reader something that he/she did not know before. People reading articles expect to either learn something, or to be entertained, and in the ideal case, both. So, always try to keep the readers attention.

You can be funny, or add a special comment. An article is also not a grammatical masterpiece. You don’t have to show off how good you are with word.

On the contrary if you write like you speak to a real human, your readers will feel comfortable with you and your style.

- You should always write about something that you have a passion for. You may love playing golf, or have a passion for gardening or visit to www.freeearningtips.com. Whatever it is, if you have a strong feeling for your subject (or niche), and you know something that other people may not know, then you have taken the first step to your new article.

- Once you know where to write about, you can use the search engines to do more research. The search engines are a great place to find inspiration. Take notes. These notes will help you if you lack inspiration.

The more articles you write, the more likely it is that you will receive traffic to your website, and traffic means sales.

And the great thing is that, once you’ve written an article, it becomes a viral marketing tool for years to come. It is really that simple. You just need to get yourself started.

Three Easy Lessons to Take Your Online Marketing to the Next Level

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on June 23rd, 2011 by admin

I just spent the last week in two very different, but parallel universes. After helping researchers in a federal government agency work on getting their science understood and used in the marketplace, I tapped the wisdom of a conference full of online marketing gurus.

The common thread? These experiences reinforced several lessons that will help you succeed in attracting the right kinds of clients. Here are ideas and resources to help you take action:

Lesson 1: Be yourself when you market. This is particularly true if you offer a really complex or academic service (like the scientists I mentioned) where it’s natural to cite lots of references and sources. Instead of getting caught up in stiff or unnatural language that stands between you and the audience you’re trying to connect with, just be yourself. I see a lot of people struggle with this when it comes to writing “copy” for their website, an e-newsletter or sales letter.

In the wise words of my new friend, Fred Gleeck (online marketing genius and co-host of this past weekend’s Subscription Website Publishers Association Conferencehttp://www.swepa.org), “Just write the truth. The truth as you see and feel it. People will then feel more comfortable about the copy you write. They may not be able to put their finger on it, but it will be more believable and it will increase sales. Forget the hype and “slightly” untruthful copy. Adopt a writing style that makes sure that what you say and what is ACTUALLY true are in complete harmony.” To tap more of Fred’s wisdom, visit him at http://www.fredgleeck.com

Lesson 2: If you don’t have one, start an e-newsletter TODAY! The key to successful online marketing comes down to one thing: a basic, opt-in e-newsletter. Why? Because you’re invited to “touch” your readers regularly with small samples of your thinking. In turn, you invite them to check out more resources on your website. It becomes easy for them to spread the word about you. It’s a way to get new contacts from your offline networking into your online marketing system.

A really good e-newsletter, written in your

natural voice (see Lesson 1) is the engine that drives your marketing machine. Don’t let excuses like “my website’s not ready” and “we don’t have our editorial calendar planned out” stop you. The point is to start connecting with your target audience at least monthly to build the relationship. My favorite resource for how-to is Debbie Weil at www.wordbiz.com. Debbie will get you up and running in no time.

Lesson 3: Nobody cares about you…and here’s what to do about it. According to PR expert Paul Hartunian (http://www.prprofits.com), nobody cares if you’ve just released the greatest new service, gotten promoted, hired new staff or spoken at another conference. What they do care about is how you can rock their world. If you start your marketing message with, “We are pleased to announce…,” you’re dead in the water.

What you need to do is: 1) use a basic template to write press releases that work (Paul has ‘em); 2) torture the media by telling them what problems you solve, but not how you solve them (they’ll have to call you to find out); 3) develop a simple 3-page media kit for quick follow up (your 1-page press release, a 1-page “so what?” bio, and a 1-page FAQ sheet). The other hot thing that the press likes these days is online media rooms. This is a dedicated place on your website where they can, in one or two easy downloads, check you out and get what they need to write a story about you. An easy way to do this is via the Media Room product at www.dvcotechnology.com.

The 3 easy steps to improve your online marketing efforts?

Step 1: Be yourself when you market.

Step 2: Start an e-newsletter (monthly, at a minimum).

Step 3: Remember that nobody cares about you (only how you can rock their world).

Dos and Donts for the Internet Marketing Newbie (Part 2)

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on June 23rd, 2011 by admin

You are now reading Part 2 of my article the “Do’s and Don’ts for the Internet Marketing Newbie”. Part 1 covered the Do’s and this part will cover the Don’ts.

· Don’t throw your money away! Unless you have lots to throw away and can afford to buy whatever gets thrown at you. Budget yourself and keep within your budget. Only spend when you need to. You will come across plenty of sites that want you to spend your hard earned money for an internet marketing course, E-book, or piece of software guaranteed to make you money. Don’t fall into the trap. First investigate, ask questions from other marketers to see if they are familiar with the product and recommend it. That’s where the forums come in handy and are beneficial.

· Don’t believe all of the hype you will encounter. Example. BUY THIS SOFTWARE NOW! YOU ONLY HAVE TILL MIDNIGHT TONIGHT OR THE PRICE IS GOING TO DOUBLE OR EVEN TRIPLE. YOU’LL SAVE $200.00 IF YOU BUY RIGHT NOW! Don’t believe it, the price will be the same tomorrow and the next. Or here’s another good one. I’m only selling this to the first 50 people who visit my website. Yeah, right. I really believe that one.

· Don’t forget you are a potential customer to every marketer out there, so they will try to sell you their service or product to make money. Remember you are now a marketer and your purpose is to sell your service or product to others, not for you to buy theirs.

· Don’t get me wrong, some services or products are worth buying. You just have to figure out which are the right ones for you and your business. Remember you’re not trying to line someone else’s pockets. You’re trying to line your own.

· Don’t get frustrated and give up because things don’t happen right away. You have to have the mindset that you can do it and succeed. Granted you will have good days and bad days. Every accomplishment is a victory. Every defeat is a learning experience. No business is an overnight success.

· Don’t limit yourself and your thinking. Be willing to try different things and when you find the one thing that seems to work, build on it, but keep trying other things as well.

· You’ve had your business up and running for a couple of months and you’ve only made one sale. Don’t quit because you think it’s not working. Think in these terms instead. If you’ve made one sale, then you can make 2 sales, and if you can make 2 sales, you can make 3 sales and

so on. Many of the top marketers on the internet today took years to find the formula that led to their success.

· Don’t believe that there is such a thing as an “auto-pilot” business. Like Ron Popeil’s rotisserie oven, SET IT AND GO. Just doesn’t work that way. I don’t care what you have heard or have read. You have to promote your business. You have to get your name out there and become visible so people can find you and what you’re offering. Just because you now have a website does not mean the masses will come in droves. There are millions upon millions of websites and probably at least a quarter of a million of them are selling the same service or product as you. The question is how are you going to get people to visit your website instead of someone else’s? Once they are there, what’s going to get them to buy from you or join your affiliation? So understand you are going to have to learn how to promote and sell your business and that involves work and time.

· Don’t upgrade your affiliation accounts until you can afford to do so. Many affiliate programs will try to pressure you into upgrading to a “Pro” account. Wait until you start making some money from your business first, then upgrade.

· Don’t rely solely on emailing to promote your business. Due to major Spam filters your message may not get through. Find all of the different ways to advertise on the internet like writing articles, exchanging links, click/surf exchanges, and Pay Per Click search engines. Use offline ways to advertise your business like newspaper ads, mailings, telemarketing, faxes and flyers. Put your website on a t-shirt and wear it!

· Don’t give up, persistence will pay off eventually.

Okay, I’ll stop there. I probably could go on and on and even write an E-book about this subject (that’s a thought). I think you get the idea about how to avoid the “Information Overload” headache and hopefully I have given you some substance for thought. The most important point is take one step at a time. Don’t rush it! And remember once a “newbie” always a “newbie” because you will be learning all of the time!

Cut Out the B.S. in Your Internet Marketing

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on June 22nd, 2011 by admin

Are you getting disgusted with your results as an internet marketer? Staying up until two in the morning looking for that information that will give you that extra edge over everyone else out there? Slowly changing your goal of working for yourself into a dream again instead of the reality you once knew it to be?

Think of the last great idea you had and never used. What made you give up on it? Not enough time? Not enough money to get it up and running? Did you think it just would’ nt work? One more question. Who gave you all of these quick answers that made you so sure you were wrong?

I have one suggestion. Go out and get a gallon of gas, dump it all over your living room, and light a match. Now that your house is gone, tell yourself that the only money you can use to buy a new one is from your Paypal account. Now do you know exactly which efforts are working for you online?

Or call your boss right now and tell him you are quitting. Now all you have is internet marketing. I

bet you can double your sales in a week.

Okay, I am really not suggesting that you do this, but put yourself in that state of mind for a few minutes. What project would you start on tomorrow? Is your answer different than it would have been before you started reading your article?

Necessity is the mother of invention. It also is the mother of motivation. If everything in your life is comfortable right now, you have no need to go online and rake in those dollars. You may think you are putting in the effort, but, if you are like me, a lot of this energy may be wasted surfing, checking out pyramid schemes, and finding the easy way out.

Once you have a need for the money you could be making, it’s amazing how quickly you can cut out the B.S. and go quickly to that one project that you know will make money. The next time you see your sales dropping, put your life in false crisis. You will quickly narrow down your options.
