Multiple Streams of Income are Hacker Proof

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on September 30th, 2011 by admin

One thing I have learned in internet marketing is you better have more than 1 income stream or you can kiss you butt goodbye.

I learned this in a big way about 5 years ago. In 1997 I started learning the ropes of internet marketing and made a few dollars here and there. Wrote a newsletter, wrote a training course. In the old days of SFI I helped develop their flagship product Full Circle Success. I had my ducks in a row. 3 streams of income coming in. My bank account was golden.

I few years later I started working with a partner in the lead generation arena. I plunged all my energy into that company and started to let my other stream of income dwindle until they were not even generating enough money to buy a “Big Mac” at McDonalds. I was still flying high until the worse case scenario happened.

In one swoop a group of brilliant but hugely mis guided individuals struck our web server hosting facility. They destroyed our database of close to 2 million leads. Our customer database of over 1000 customers and our programming. In the process they also took out the web site and databases of 9 other poor schmucks. Plus these guys were so smart that they started corrupting the backups before they took the whole system down.

I could have died. I just purchased our new farm, our family income was depending largely on my income and whamo I had no business left. My husband was standing outside my office door when the news came over the telephone. He didn’t quite grasp the concept of the server being hacked. The tears started to roll down my face knowing that a hacked server was similar to a office building getting burned to the ground.

I said the business is gone and I would not be able to make the mortgage payments. He said, “You

don’t have a choice.” Seems sort of harsh. Isn’t a husband supposed to console you when your down. Not in our case. He knew what I had done to start my internet marketing success. He knew that if I gave up at that moment I would never find success again. He knew how to push my buttons to piss me off just enough to get me started again.

Within the hour I had a partial customer list. The phone was hot from the conference calls with programmers, lead suppliers and bankers. Within 1 month the company was operating at break even. With in 3 – 6 months we were turning a profit.

You’ve come this far so I better tell you what you should learn from the tale of woe.

1. Keep more than one stream of income going at all times. The Internet is a fickle place. It changes fast and moves quickly. What is hot today could be gone tomorrow.

2. Backups and Security are crucial to your web based business. If you get wiped out by a virus or a hosting provider it is your own darn fault. Back up once, twice, thee times if you feel better. Your web host is your life.

3. Keep your head above water. You will ride many, many waves in the internet marketing game. I think that’s what attracts me to it in some sick way. I can go from making nothing one week to cutting a deal for $10,000 the next week. You are going to get kicked in the teeth my more than one venture. The key is to keep moving forward as long as you do that you will continuously run into new opportunities.

Increase Internet Sales with Free Trials

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on September 28th, 2011 by admin

If you’re selling a product or service on the Internet, one of the best ways to increase your sales is by offering a free trial, also know as a teaser, demo or limited version. By enabling your potential customers to review your product and providing them with an easy ordering process, you can increase your sales immensely.

Free trials are not exclusive to software programs. There are many ways you can offer a free trial no matter what product or service you’re offering. For example, if you’ve written a book, consider offering it in an electronic version, better know as an eBook. You can include your entire bookwithin the eBook and choose to lock out certain chapters.

In order for your potential customer to gain access to these chapters they will be required to purchase the full version. You can include an order form and instantly take orders, right through your free trial Ebook. When you receive an order, you simply send your customer a predefined user ID and password that you set up when you create it.

A good program to assist you in creating an Ebook is Ebook Edit Pro. http://www.web-source.net This program will compress your HTML documents into a self-contained “executable” file. This HTML may be a web site you’ve created or HTML you’ve specifically prepared to be compiled into a downloadable .exe file for distribution. This .exe file is a completely freestanding program and requires no installation. When clicked on, the program instantly opens your book on your client’s desktop. In addition, WebCompiler will enable you to lock out certain pages of your Ebook or an entire directory.

The key to using a free trial version is to offer your product for download from your website and allow it to be freely distributed. Provide some valuable free information, but save your most important information for the unlocked version. Make your locked chapters sound very intriguing and create curiosity. Tell your potential customers what they will receive by purchasing the full version, provide a complete list of all the benefits, and provide them with an easy ordering process.

To further increase your sales, provide your potential customers with instant gratification. You can completely automate your entire ordering process simply by using a CGI script. There are

scripts online that will allow you to make your product available for download, take the customers order, approve it right online, send your customer a password and send you a confirmation of theorder, all completely automatic.

- CGI Resource Index – http://cgi.resourceindex.com/

After you’ve created your product, consider setting up an affiliate program for massive distribution. There are many affiliate CGI scripts available to assist you in running your own affiliate program.

- The Affiliate Program – http://theaffiliateprogram.com/

- ProTrack – http://www.affiliatesoftware.net/

If you’re selling a service on the Internet, you can offer your potential customers a free trial as well. For example, if you offer a search engine submission service, you can provide your customers with a limited free submission to the search engines.

To entice your customers to purchase your full service you can, not only submit their site to your full list of search engines, but you can create doorway pages, insure their pages are optimized for the search engines and provide a resubmission service every month for a year. In addition, provide your clients with a free report of each submission process.

Prior to doing your customers last submission, contact them and inform them that their submission contract will soon be expiring. Tell them how they can renew their submission process and offer another enticing freebie such as, “If you renew your submission contract before (date) we will also submit your site to over 1000 Free For All Sites.”

This type of free trial will not only increase your current sales, but it will promote future sales as well.

The possibilities are endless. By offering your potential customers something of value for free, providing instant gratification, and an easy ordering process, you can dramatically increase your sales.

Internet Marketing: Steps You Need to Take before You Begin Marketing Your Product

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on September 27th, 2011 by admin

If you are new to the world of Internet marketing, there are some challenges you face. First of all, many people have been using Internet marketing for years. It will take a little work to catch up to them, but it can be done!

There are some steps you need to take before you begin marketing your product or service on the Internet. First, it is important that you identify your product or service. Some people dream of making thousands or millions online, but they choose a product or service they cannot market. For more details go to www.attaining-your-desires.com

Research products or services thoroughly before choosing the one you want to market. See if the market is already flooded with that item if it is, you may have a harder time marketing it against established competitors.

Next, you will need a web site for your product or service. This can be a challenge because you need to decide if you are going to hire someone to create your page or if you plan to do it yourself. Above all, your page should be well designed. A poor design is not going to bring in customers. If you pay a professional, make sure they will complete the job to your satisfaction without going way over budget. The web page should be designed with information for your target audience. Make sure the content is something the customers will find interesting. It should also be easy to navigate and find stuff on the page as well. Also, remember to update your web page regularly. If you have a stagnate page, customers will get bored and not visit as frequently. Consider giving out a freebie once a month

to keep them coming back.

Finally, once you get a well-designed web page up and running, you need to get traffic to it. You can have the best web page in the world, but if no one notices it, you will not sell anything. This is one of the biggest challenges facing those who are new to Internet marketing.

There are many ways you can get people to your site, but one of the best ways is with keywords or phrases within your content. You should know who your target audience is and what type of words for which they will be searching. Your web host may be able to provide you with traffic statistics on certain keywords to help you determine if they keywords you have within your web page content is actually terms for which people are searching. In addition to keywords or phrases, you may also want to put written content on your page about your product or services. To know more about it simply visits www.dropshipping-made-easy.com. These types of articles are great for drawing in traffic. If all this proves to be too much for you or your webmaster or you still are not getting the traffic you want, consider consulting with a firm that specialized in web page search engine optimization.

Another way to promote your site is through emails. You can have your visitors sign up for a newsletter, but you can also consider mass email marketing. The only problem with that is you do not want to spam people who are not interested. Other things you may want to look into is pay per click advertising, banner ads to draw more people into your site.

Article Marketing Tools for Internet Marketing

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on September 26th, 2011 by admin

Article marketing is one of the most used tools for Internet marketing being used today. More and more businesses are coming online now to do serious business. It is estimated that more than a few million Internet marketers are trying to compete for a piece of this Internet pie. Article marketing actually helps to level this playing field. Many of today’s Internet marketers are affiliate and network MLM marketers. So many of these home based marketers are gold-mining the Internet, much like our forefathers ran for the California and Alaska gold-rushes of their time. For more details go to www.podcastings-prompter.com .They only had the shirts on their backs and sometimes only a tin pan to pan for gold in some stream. Many of these home based Internet marketer have the same spirit as the prospectors of those gold-rush days. The tin pan for finding gold nuggets has been replaced with article marketing. Article marketing helps to level off everyone, big or small, because of one simple reason. Everyone is afforded the same chance to market their articles in much the same way as everyone else does. It is up to the author’s ability to appeal to the reader. Money cannot buy this talent. A large company may be able to flood the article directories with 50 articles or 500 a day, but who will read them if they do not grab the reader and keep them reading from start to finish? This is the bottom line. If you can write a minimum of 5 marketing article per day that targets the readers and hold their attentions long enough, so 2 out of 10 readers click on the back-link to your site, you will strike gold. But be patient! After a few nuggets come in, soon your talent will be led to the main source where these nuggets came from. Article marketing is all about target traffic. Almost everyone who will read your articles is those that are interested in knowing more about the topic. When you are writing marketing articles, the topics will always be about what you are promoting. Article

marketing is a natural for generating target leads to convert to sales. Article marketing is a great traffic generator. The key to this is simple. Target your audience by writing unique content about the product or service you are promoting. Write 500+ word articles that are compelling and conversational. Submit your articles to article directories with a link to your promotional site. The trick is to write as many articles as time will allow you to do and do not stop. Never stop feeding the machine. For more information logon to www.paylock-generator.com .Your article marketing machine needs to be turned on, but never turned off. www.social-marketing-secret.com

www.the-30-minute-marketing-miracle.com

Be patient and watch your sales increase. At first it may seem like a trickle, then a week or so later, a few more. A couple of months later, you should notice a lot more sales coming in through your website. Your investment is time and dedication. Because article marketing takes time and work, it is important to protect your investment by producing quality articles to market. Only submit to the article directories that the search engines regularly index. This is how your articles will show up in search engine results.

Is Web Site Marketing for You?

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on September 25th, 2011 by admin

Web site marketing is a business venture that is appealing tomany women. Web site marketing truly is a viable business thatcan be operated from the comfort of your own home giving yougreater control over your own schedule. Of course, just like anybusiness opportunity, there are advantages and disadvantages ofweb site marketing, but many women have found it to be thesolution to dilemmas that women in the workforce face. Unlikeother so called “work-from-home opportunities”, there are vastopportunities in web site marketing that can transform the livesof women and their families.

Most women I’ve talked to who are seeking work-from-home businessopportunities, or have their own web based business, have similardesires. They want a home-based business which will free up theirschedules so they can better fulfill their multiple roles. Forwomen, these roles generally include that of housewife, mother, and bread winner as well as participation in a church andcommunity organizations or events. It is absolutely amazing to aman like me to consider all of the various roles that a womanfills on a daily basis. So, I am so happy that I can share myknowledge of web site marketing with women who are looking for asolution to simplify their lives while making a lucrative income.

The advantages of web site marketing as a work-from-homeopportunity are:

1. Web site marketing can be accomplished from the comfort ofyour own home. There is no need to rent expensive office spaceand you can be at home where you are needed, even during workinghours.

2. Your work on web site marketing can be done at any time of theday or night which gives you complete control of your schedule. There will be no more checking with the boss to get permission totake your child to the doctor or to attend an award’s assembly. You can be wherever you need to be, whenever you need to bethere, without the stress and guilt that is usually associatedwith being torn between work and family.

3. In comparison to other home based businesses, a web sitemarketing business is relatively inexpensive to start. Of course, there could be exorbitant costs involved if you go out and

hirean expensive web developer or a web site marketing agency, butwith a little training and access to powerful do-it-yourselftools, you can do a lot of the work yourself saving you loads ofmoney.

4. You can center your work in web site marketing around yourinterests. There’s nothing worse than spending time day in andday out in a profession you hate or doing mindless work that youhave no interest in. With web site marketing, you can decide whatyou are going to market. Whether it is information, products orservices, and you can choose something you enjoy and have apassion for.

5. There are no geographical barriers. With web site marketing, the world is your playground, literally. The internet reachesaudiences worldwide and web site marketing expenses are penniescompared to the costs involved in marketing products, services,or even information in the global marketplace without the use ofthe internet. If you live in the middle of the desert and youwant to sell ski gear, there is no reason you can’t do that ifyou are willing to engage in web site marketing.

There are not many disadvantages of web site marketing as a work-from-home opportunity. I would have to say that the maindisadvantage is the learning curve. Web site marketing is easy, but it isn’t really something you can just jump into without anyknowledge of the web site marketing strategies and techniques.

An added disadvantage to the learning curve is that there are somany people who up and decide they can be web site marketing”experts” simply because web site marketing is a popular topic, rather than basing their consulting services or informationgeneration efforts on something they really know. Sifting throughinformation about web site marketing to determine whatinformation is good and what is all hype can be difficult.

Why No Online Marketing is a Failure (Its Only a Test!)

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on September 24th, 2011 by admin

Just yesterday a colleague of mine, whom I’ll call “Sandy,” asked my advice about marketing her new information product online. She saw some of my banner ads on a particular Web site, and wanted to know if she should put her own up there.

I said they didn’t work that well for me, but I suggested she try it, because it was a site often visited by her target market.

“But how do I know it will work for me?” she said.

“You don’t,” I answered.

“What?” she said.

“Test it!” I said. “Try anything for a bit and see how it works for you.”

Test, Test, and Test Again

I then shared with her one of the most important concepts I’ve learned over the past eight months of going to live internet marketing seminars.

Here were guys (yes, all guys, for now : )) who have each made millions — millions! — from selling information online.

But they didn’t just become millionaires out of the blue with their first idea and their first marketing strategies. They had failures. In fact, after talking with them, I learned they had MANY failures.

I looked at these guys, whom many in the audience considered Internet marketing demi-gods, and tried to imagine them “failing.” It was hard. After all, there they were, up on stage, teaching what works.

But they’d failed many times. They tried something, it didn’t work, and then they moved on to another strategy. They TESTED things, and they still always do test things.

If I tried something online and it didn’t work, I saw it as a failure. But they just see it as a test.

It’s Time to Reprogram Your Mind

In school, if we didn’t have the right answer, we “failed.” But in marketing, that’s bullsh*t.

In marketing, if we don’t get the right answer, we LEARN. We learn what does not work and where not to spend our marketing money anymore. That’s damn valuable information!

Now, I know this concept may seem like a “duh” to you, because it did to me too. I heard stories over and over about testing, but every time I did, my mind answered back, “Of course … I know that.”

Isn’t it funny how our minds assume we know things? But we don’t really know something unless we’re LIVING it.

I thought I knew what was working and what wasn’t working, but

how could I when I wasn’t tracking anything?

And also, how could I take others’ marketing advice without seeing if their advice was really working for ME?

Tracking Is Your Key to Riches

So I started tracking and testing.

Twelve months ago, I couldn’t even tell you how many visitors I was getting to my site every month. Now I can tell you not only how many unique visitors I get, but how many of them on an average buy my product, how many of them sign up for my e-zines, the maximum I should spend to get a visitor to my site, and more. Knowing this information has helped me DOUBLE my sales over the last several months.

Tracking and testing is not as hard as you think. The beauty of any type of d1rect marketing, especially online marketing, is your ability to track results.

Now, in Sandy’s example above, she needs some type of ad tracker program that assigns a special link to her ad. Even better, this program should be linked to her shopping cart, so she can see how many clicks directly turned into sales. (For this purpose, I highly recommend KickStart Cart, my favorite brand of 1ShoppingCart. (http://tinyurl.com/orhg))

For her Web site, she should track how many visitors she has each month compared with how many sales she has each month. Her reporting program should tell her how many unique visitors she has on her site (not just “hits,” which is useless).

Sandy should extend this tracking mentality to every type of marketing she does — even her free teleclasses. For every teleclass she teaches, she should track how many of those folks sign up for her e-zine and how many buy her product right away.

See where I’m going with this? The numbers don’t lie, and once you start seeing the light, marketing will become much more painless. Just stop doing what doesn’t work, and put more energy into what does.

THEN, you won’t look back and see any failures. You’ll only see “tests.” : )

If you have a website but not attracting many visitors, it may be because you’ve not known the insiders secrets that I have.

By just making a couple of changes at your website, you can attract an avalanche of visitors and sky rocket your sales.

Below are the internet marketing secrets.

1. Write your ad copy like you’re talking directlyto your visitors. Use the words “you”, “your”, and”you’re” a lot in your ad copy.

2. Visit business discussion boards regularly. Youcould discover helpful advice, online resources andgive your own two cents worth.

3. Gain free advertising by listing your business infoin your chat room profile. Most chat rooms allowthis, but check their rules to be sure.

4. Let people know about your affiliate program.Submit it to numerous affiliate program directories, announce it in your e-zine, put it in your sig file, etc.

5. Tell your visitors exactly what you want them todo at your web site. You may want them to orderproducts, subscribe to your ezine, etc.

6. Focus your site on your visitor’s desires, not onyourself. They want to know what’s in it for them, not that you won an award

for your business.

7. Try not to get caught up in loading your site withtechnological gizmos and gadgets. Concentrate onyour words, they will do the actual selling.

The Internet F-Word

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on September 21st, 2011 by admin

For the last several months I’ve been collecting and organizing links for the free Christian Resource Center. Now that the public area is up and the members’ area is well under construction, I’m running into one problem: the Internet F-word.

One of the most popular search terms in the world. One of the Web’s biggest search term lies in the wrong hands. It’s so controversial that I can’t put it in the subject line of an e-mail. (Thanks to those self-appointed e-mail guardians who have done such a commendable job of protecting the sanctity of our e-mail in-boxes by eliminating the f-word, thus leaving more storage space for Viagra ads, adult sites, and really personal growth secrets.) It’s still one of the best magnets to draw targeted traffic.

So, what if I have to advertise that my “Members Area” will have links to over 25,000 fr^e resources? Or that my public area has links to over 1,000 fr^e resources. Or that my e-zine will feature fr^e resources in every issue.

It’s all part of life on the new frontier, keeping up with the changing rules, avoiding misdirected vigilante “justice.”

No, I don’t like the stupid e-mail filters that filter out the e-zines I subscribed to while apparently laying out the welcome mat for the scammers, spammers, smut merchants, and gamblers.

I could gripe to my family and friends or change my domain name to keep my URL from triggering somebody’s spam filter. But, hey, I live in the land of the fr^e and the home of the br@ve. Think I’ll keep my domain name and post the e-zine on the Web site for those who can’t get it by e-mail.

If I can’t figure out some way to let people know my site is out there, then I’m just not a good enough promoter. If I can piggy-back that onto—say, an article that (I hope) advances the cause of exposing the Spam-nazis and ISPs for their meddling, ineffective and intrusive (non)solution to “the problem of spam,” so much the better.

Maybe I could even come up with a title that piques the reader’s curiosity while illustrating the woeful inadequacy of “filters.” After all, I’m fr^e to submit fr^e articles to fr^e content sites and fr^e e-zines all over the Internet to advertise my fr^e resources. I just can’t use the f-word in the subject line.

Note to self: add “fr^e” to meta-tags on Web site before the Google-bot’s next visit ;-)
