Web Coach Tip: Top 10 New Years Resolutions for Your Website

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on January 18th, 2012 by admin

January — time for serious housekeeping and a website annual health checkup! As we make resolutions for ourselves, we can’t leave our website un-healthy a minute longer! You may not even realize your site is ailing.

Sick websites are just like sick people. They’re not as productive or functioning as they normally are. Broken links and outdated info compare to a sore throat and nagging cough. Ignored and left untreated will eventually lead to bigger problems ahead.

So prepare to take notes while you read this article. Print this out and grab a pen & paper, I’ll wait.

1. Remove outdated events or expired offers.Nothing is more unprofessional than outdated info. Ie, Sign up for our August Super Conference. Either revised it, or delete it. As you prepare for 2006 include your “still on the burner” projects on your site. Give your visitors something to look forward to.

2. Update client testimonials and completed projects.Let the world know how busy you’ve been and what you’ve been up to. If you’ve not been so productive – make it look like you are – new clients are attracted and want to work with successful “happening” people.

3. Move a successful product or service to the front page.Make it a feature product and run a “special” for the month. Then next month, swap it out for another service or product. Take the time now to plan your “specials” for the next 6 months, or better yet – for the whole year!

4. Have your products or services morphed into a life of their own? What I mean is, look at your navigation – do these categories still apply? (ie. About us, web development, business solutions, etc.) Break out an item worthy of standing on it’s own into your navigation menu. Your customers will thank you for bringing your goodies out of hiding.

5. Got an updated photo of yourself? Or is it time to make an appointment with the photographer? Enough said… just do it.

6. Check your auto-responders. ALL of them.Test the entire series by sending to yourself and

scouring over each with a fine tooth comb. Prepare to update your copy.

7. Review your Pricing.Do you have unnecessary services listed you can delete? A new service you can add? This is also good time to do a rate change.

8. Revisit your pre-contact Assessments and Questionnaires.Did you notice questions that went unanswered more often than others? Perhaps re-wording the question or deleting it all together would be wise.

9. Double check your contact info.Include your instant message (IM) id’s or modify your business hours. Add your turn around time for answering inquires, etc.

10. Edit copy on all your web pages but save the homepage for last. Now stand back, see the big picture and incorporate those edits into your homepage. Remember, you’re going to take your visitor by the hand and lead them where they are to go.

While you’re on a roll – don’t forget to take a look at your System’s housekeeping. For example, I revisited a production checklist I use for one of my major clients. Adding in little tid-bits of info that I spent way too much useless time searching for each month will save me thousands of moments of frustration. Plus, every production based item I need for this client is right at my fingertips.

WOW, now doesn’t that feel better!

While you still have pen in hand, what else can you do to improve and simplify?

What about being creative – do you spend enough time marketing to attract clients? Do you spend quality time reflecting on your business to learn from past mistakes and how to avoid them?

Now that you’ve created a weekend project, please don’t obsess. Start out spending only 15 minutes with each task. You can do ANYTHING in 15 minutes.

Know Thy Enemy and Then Thrash Them at Their Own Game

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on January 16th, 2012 by admin

Much as I would love to say that your success solely depends on how you build your business, I cannot. You see, much like in real life, you will need to compete to attain success. In Internet marketing, you will have to compete against the greatest and most innovative competition anywhere online.

The fact that Internet Marketing is so competitive is the reason for the massive growth in niche marketing where the competition is less fierce. In such a competitive market and even in the smaller markets you need to adopt a particular strategy to make sure you stand a good chance of getting your message seen at all by interested prospects.

The trick? You must beat your competition at their own game, of course. And the only way to do that is to “know thy enemy”.

There are a number of ways to do this and resources to make your job a lot easier. Time is the most valuable commodity you have and if there is a way to save time by investing a little cash then I suggest you do this.

Run a search of your more popular keywords in any search engine. The results will reveal the number of websites targeting your market. Each and everyone of them is your competition. The ones at the top 10 in the first page of the results should be your targets. Your goal is to topple them from their position.

And you WILL be able to accomplish this by first knowing what they’re doing right.

Try to visit their website and observe the way

of how they do things. How are their keywords positioned? How are their pages designed? How is their content laid out? How is their information presented?

At the top of your browser click “view” then “source” this will show you the inner html workings of the page you are on. Have a look at the alt tags in the page, are they laden with keyword phrases?

What keywords are your competitors targeting in the meta tags?

One of the most important things you need to know about your competition is which, and how many websites are linking to them. I use Brad Callen’s SEO Elite to find out this info( http://www.malkeenan.com/offers/seoelite.html ).

With this info in hand your task then would be to get the same linkbacks and more. It is unlikely that the top rankings in your determined keyword phrase are all linking to the same websites. So take the top 10, find out all their link partners and beat their link popularity by swapping links with a greater number.

Especially target those link partners with high Google ranking. The aforementioned tool will give you all the required info. Google rankings of 0 PR should be ignored.

The golden rule in beating your competition is by copying what works for them and improving on the same.

Retain what works and discard what doesn’t.

I hope you found this article helpful.

How Article marketing – Be a truly booming Affiliate Marketer?

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on January 16th, 2012 by admin

Article marketing has produced great success for many affiliate marketers, with the ever increasing numbers of article directory websites; this has increased article marketing greatly for affiliates and their websites.

Affiliate marketers are everywhere within the internet world. It is not unusual for an affiliate to gain six figure commission checks on a monthly basis. Article marketing is free so there is no outlay needed, but the benefits are extreme.

But one problem some affiliates are faced with is the lack of knowledge in article marketing. And this is how the top affiliates produce enough leads to their various programs. To be successful in any online business an affiliate needs various leads For more details go on www.ppc-profit-marketer.com, this can be achieved by free article marketing and including a link to their particular program, that way the leads they will receive would lead to having a great chance of turning them into actual sales.

To be successful in article marketing one must produce keyword rich articles, content must be well written and unique. 500-750 words are an ideal length for an article. Also submit to numerous free article directories, there are thousands out there. There is also semi-automatic article submission software’s out there you can purchase to help you with your submissions; these can be great time savers!

Article marketing isn’t just for affiliates; you may have a website selling products or even an eBay shop. Article marketing is ideal for the new business to get their name out there. One of the most important items in your article is your title; make sure your keywords are all within your

title, but at the same time making

it catchy to the user.

One sure way of getting your article rejected by the article directories is to have spelling mistakes and poor grammar. It’s just common sense to run your article though a spell checking program before submitting to the article directories. I personally use Microsoft word which incorporates a spell checking facility. Your article should be informative to the reader and offer something of interest.

Your article should be easy to read with the correct formatting, it’s better to have lots of paragraphs than to have a huge paragraph with no breaks. The ideal paragraph would consist of two – four sentences; just like this one ;)

the most important part of your completed article is the author’s bio. This is where you’ll place your name, link to your website and description of your website or go on www.master-affiliates-marketer.com. Make sure your anchor text includes your main keywords, so when the search engines crawls your article in the article directory it picks up your link with all your main keywords. It’s also advisable to include some keywords with your description.

It’s always ideal for some other person to proof read the article before submitting to the various article directories. If time is an issue, you might want to consider hiring a writer to publish some articles for you. Elance.com is a great place to hire writers but remember you get what you pay for. If you hire a writer check they have recommendations from previous article writing projects.

I hope you’ve found this article informative and helpful. Free article marketing is definitely a great way to promote an affiliate program or website.

Internet Marketing Is Not Like Off-Line Marketing

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on January 14th, 2012 by admin

This is a question many of you probably ask yourself several times a day. The question, “what if”, often comes to mind in regards to internet marketing. What if it does not work? What if I am just wasting my money? What if I can’t do this? What if it all fails? The what if’s are just to many to mention.

Internet marketing can be an extremely tricky matter and a lot of money can be wasted if not done right or if your marketing does not reach its target. In order for you not to waste your time or money, you need to find where to market yourself, company or product in order to reach your specific group of people. People who would be interested in what you have to offer.

Let us say your site offers baby stuff. You would not want to waste your time or money to promote someplace where the visitors are mainly interested in cars. Would you? Of course not, you would seek out a place where people go to look for baby content only. This would be the logical thing to do, right?

Unfortunately these places are far and few between because most directories out there are general, which means that subjects regarding any topic can be posted there. These places might not necessarily be a total waste, you might be lucky and some people will actually see your post and

visit your site.

What if there was something better out there that would be worth your while? Wouldn’t you want to take advantage of it? Surely you would. When it comes to saving money and time, anything should be worth your while. Another plus with posting on a content site would be that you would get much more exposure and reach your targeted group.

Like mentioned earlier, these places can be a little harder to find but once you have tried it and are able to see what posting on a niche content site can do for you, you will be very excited. The good thing about such a site is that they are dedicated to one specific niche.

Therefore, if you find a baby content site to post your articles on, you are guaranteed that everyone visiting that site are looking for content regarding babies. If the content on your site is good you can expect much more traffic to your site from having posted on such a site compared to on a general directory site.

Take the time to do some research and you will find the place for you to do your promotion. At the same time you will find that a lot of your what ifs will be answered.

List Building Tips: Building a Contact List

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on January 13th, 2012 by admin

Building a contact list can be as easy or complicated as you wish. But why make it more difficult than it needs to be? Use the techniques below to increase your subscription and retention rate and build a solid contact list.

Focus On Your Customers. Use your email list to learn more about your customers. An email list is not one-way street. Even if you use your list primary to send out a newsletter always, give your readers a way to contact you.

List a special “editor” email and encourage people to write you with any comments that may have about the latest newsletter issue. So we can make a good list building and use it for mailing purpose.

Create a survey about a hot topic that your newsletter relates too. Read the headlines in industry bulletins and then ask your readers to email you back with their opinions.

Make a questionnaire. Lots of people love sharing their ideas with others, especially if they feel they are helping a group of like-minded people.

Take a poll. Use your newsletter to take an “exit poll” on some product or service that you sell. Publish the results on your website at a later date.

Send out “Product Updates” or “How-to Guides” on products or services to former customers. Offer discount coupons to new products or services.

Ask “what did we

do wrong” questions. Encourage your readers to give you and your business improvement tips. Provide a simple contact form for people to reply anonymously.

Provide quality content in your newsletter that is not readily available elsewhere.

Create a community. People love belonging to groups of like-minded individuals who understand what their goal is.

Answer questions. Use your surveys and questionnaires to learn what is confusing to your readers and then work to find the answers to their questions. Solve problems. Use your newsletter to provide useful how-to information for your readers.

Vary content formats. Although your newsletter is an email, place links inside to videos, podcasts or PDF files on your website.

Give away something free. Although your readers are already signed up, reward them by offering free products or services a couple times a years. Remember, Oprah gave away a few free cars once to her studio audience and now there is a waiting list that is years long.

Create exclusive elearning courses for your readers. Use the information you have gleamed from your readers to create an elearning course that provides answers and solutions for a common problem in greater detail. Encourage them to forward these special issues with business associates.

So as you have learned that maintaining and building a contact list using the tips above can be a very simple and easy process.

This is a common problem with some affiliate marketing sites where there are many links to individual pages on merchants’ sites; while these might offer better conversion rates than links to the merchant’s home pages, these links need to be constantly checked and updated because merchants have a habit of changing products (or even just the specific web pages on which a product is offered). Why 95% of Online Businesses Never Make a Dime!

Posted in Internet marketing specialist on January 11th, 2012 by admin

Let me ask you a question.

Why did you start an online business, or why do you want to start an onlinebusiness?

Without knowing you personally, I suspect your answer is, to make someextra money?

For many, it is to make enough money to replace their current job and workfull time from home.

For a few, it is to get filthy stinking rich!

So, when you started out, did you make a cash flow forecast?Hmmm….probably not?

If not, what would you say if someone was to offer you a better job?Chances are, you would ask HOW MUCH DOES IT PAY?

Did you do that when you decided to join some of the programs you are innow?

The simple truth is, most will never make a dime online. There are manyreasons for this of course, but, ultimately, it boils down to one majorfactor.

Nearly 95% of the people working an online business are PART TIME! Thesepart time people move from one program to another. You probably either knowthat from experience, or, you do it yourself.

So why do these part timers go from one program to the next in the hope thenext one will be “The One”?

The real answer is simple. These part time people are not making a profit, because if they were, do you honestly think they would leave and move ontosomething else and leave behind that extra income?

If you were making say, $500 a month from a program, would you leave tostart again somewhere else?

Another major factor is that most programs do not realistically offer agood chance for these part time people to make a $500 a month profit. Manyrequire you to have up to 100 people or more in your downline. Again, thisfor most will never happen. So, they move onto the next program, neverreally understanding why.

But what if there was a program that rewarded these part time people? Whatif it only needed 20 people in your team to make a $500 a month profit?

Imagine if your downline was full of part time people making such a profiteach month? do you think they would then leave?

Referring back to the statement above, if someone came to you and offeredyou a new job, your first question would be, how much does it pay? Yoursecond question would be, what is it you want me to do?

So let us look at your current program. If you want to make an extra $500PROFIT each month, do you know what you have to do in order to earn that?Do you know how many people you must recruit, and how many your people mustfind?

If you know the answer to this then fine, if not, look at your pay plan andsit down and work it out.

If your program costs more

than $250 to join and the monthly costs are morethan $250, then your chances of recruiting others online will diminish.

If your program costs $20 to join and $20 a month, then your chances ofmaking $500 will require a downline of around 250 to 500 people, or more. Are you capable of achieving that working part time?

What if your monthly costs were around $150, which is not that much really? What if you only needed FOUR people? What if they only needed FOUR peoplealso? Realistically, do you think that is a possibility?

Even part time people should be able to find FOUR, if not, then they shouldseriously think about what is they are trying to do online, apart fromlosing money.

Even if it took you three to six months to get 20 people in your team, youwould then be making a $500 a month PROFIT. Can you see yourself makingthat much with your current program when all you have done is find FOURpeople?

Take my advice. Stop falling for all the hyped up JUNK out there. Eitheryou are in business to make money or not. If you treat your business as ahobby, then it will only pay you a hobbies income, more than likely loseyou money.

Did you start your online business to make money? If so, then do your sums.Find out what you have to do in order to make the sort of monthly incomeyou desire.

If any program requires you to recruit more than FOUR people in order toearn a good part time income, then do not join it. Find one that does, because it is the part time people in your business that will make or breakyou.

Regardless of how successful you become personally, your income will alwaysbe determined by the part time people in your downline. If they know whatthey have to do in order to make a profit, then they will stay. If theyhave to find more than FOUR, they will leave after one, two or three monthsmaximum.

Remember this:

You would not start a new job if you did not know how much you would beearning or what you had to do. So why on earth should you start an onlinebusiness without knowing what you had to do in order to make a decentprofit.

Gary J Kidd has been online for over six years. He works full time from home on his business. He has downlines in some programs of over 15,000 people. He has introduced two major systems to help his part time people make a profit from home and stay in business. He shows people exactly how to make a $500 a month profit with only 20 people in their downline, using a simple system. http://www.gjkgroup.com/recommends/new
